A Day At The Ritz

A Day At The Ritz

I was recently invited to the Ritz Hotel London to have cocktails at the famous Rivoli Bar and I was also treated to a tour of the stunning hotel. Situated in the heart of Green Park, the Ritz transports you into an opulent oasis where period architecture meets 5 star service. From the moment you walk in you are greeted with friendly faces and the most stunning interiors, my first impression was the total antithesis of my preconceptions and by the end of our day at the hotel I did not want to leave.

The Rivoli Bar is an intimate cocktail lounge, I read it has been designed to create the impression of a jewellery box and now looking back, I can see the vision. With a wide array of both cocktails and champagne to chose from you will be far from stuck for choice, however I would caveat that it is not cheap! Cocktails are around £22 but with that being said, The Ritz is somewhere you come for the experience, so spend now and worry about it later!

We were then treated to a tour of the hotel, getting to know little facts a long the way e.g. the lobby pianist Ian has been playing at The Ritz London for 25 years and he used to play with Frank Sinatra. The Ritz Restaurant and Palm Court are two incredibly stunning areas which must be booked in advance for afternoon tea and for dinner.

We then had the pleasure of being shown around The Royal Suite which is located in the chambers of the formal Prime Minister Lord Pelham. The suite is broken up over two levels and totals 1689 sq ft. The suite includes a dining room, a drawing room, a study, one bedroom and two walk in wardrobe. Whilst staying in this Signature Suite, you can take advantage of the 24 hour butler service and the one way London airport transfer in the chauffeur driven Ritz Rolls-Royce.

If you have never been to The Ritz Hotel London, I would highly recommend. Even if you just walk in for a little peek you will not be disappointed. If cocktails aren’t your thing, you can always stop and have a cup of tea and some scones in The Rivoli Bar. The Christmas lights are being turned on in the last week of November so I will definitely be making a trip back to check them out.
